For the past twenty-five years Taranjeet has been working and teaching in the developmental/intellectual disabilities field, where she has been focusing on “community living” and “community inclusion” components of this diverse field. Learning is at the heart of all teaching, and Taranjeet has espoused this philosophy in her own personal and professional life. She is the lead instructor for the Community Support Worker Program and enhances the curriculum in it’s true living form for student centre learning environment. She utilizes her Master of Education degree in Imaginative Education, to engage students to be proactive learners in their own educational journey. Scaffolding is essential element in learning and teaching; students first learn this methodology in the classroom and then use these concepts out in the field to make change in the lives of people they will support.
Additionally, Taranjeet is the internal instructor for FoodSafe, First Aid, and Mandt training. She is a steadfast learner and continues to actively seek new ideas and knowledge in the ever-evolving field of CSW, thus students will receive current information.
