Jessalei began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in the Philippines before moving to British Columbia, where she graduated with honours from a Practical Nursing program. Over the past five years, she has worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in long-term care and a variety of other healthcare settings throughout BC. She has also had the privilege of serving as both a clinical and classroom instructor, supporting HCA and Practical Nursing students in their educational and professional journeys.
Her passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping future healthcare professionals reach their full potential inspired her to join Drake Medox College. Jessalei is committed to helping students take pride in their chosen healthcare careers, recognize their strengths, and embrace opportunities for continual growth and development.
As an instructor, she strives to cultivate competent, confident, compassionate, and skilled healthcare professionals. She encourages students to embrace the philosophy that “practice makes permanent,” recognizing that excellence is achieved through dedication, consistency, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Jessalei believes that while perfection is unattainable, continuous practice, perseverance, and a willingness to learn enable us to strengthen our knowledge, skills, and confidence. Through this growth, we can become the healthcare professionals our patients deserve and trust.
